We've had two fantastic Leadership Seminars so far this year, with our June offering right around the corner. Read on to find out more:
Something we believe in passionately here at Team Up is giving back to the volunteers who make our programmes possible. We offer three Leadership Seminars per academic year (one midway through each term) to help our tutors and wider Team Up community build skills for their current or future careers.
In the Autumn, Heather Storey from Barking and Dagenham Council gave us a brilliant crash course in public speaking, guiding us through the ideal structure and some useful techniques for presenting. Attendees found it really helpful to have a chance to get tips and tricks for effective presentations for work or school.
In the Spring, Miles Seecharan from Next Action Associates delivered a fascinating session on Getting Things Done. This was a great opportunity to both learn about and start to apply this personal organisation technique. Attendees noted that they would be starting to use GTD straight away!
This term, Sara Morgan from BlackRock will be talking to us about her journey to leadership and what she's looking for in new recruits. This takes place on Monday 10th June at SOAS.
