One of Team Up’s very first schools, Phoenix Academy is a mixed secondary school that provides teaching to students aged 11-19. It has undergone a period of intense improvement from 1995 onwards, when only 5% of pupils achieved 5 good passes at GCSE. It is now part of the Future Academies trust. In an effort to provide its students with a rounded education, Phoenix provides a number of opportunities to learn outside the classroom but also places its academic curriculum at the heart of school life. It is located in the diverse and vibrant White City, where residents hail from all over the world: Somalia, Ireland, North Africa, South America and the Philippines among many other countries.
