The Enrichment programme involves taking the pupils who we work with (the majority of whom are from lower income backgrounds) on inspiring trips to help them to achieve the following:

1) Encourage them to do well in their education

2) Build their confidence and growth mindset

3) Help them to consider their future career ambitions

We believe that this programme is also a great way for pupils to link the purpose of studying Maths/English in tutoring to achieveing their future career goals.

Last academic year, over 170 pupils went on inspiring one day trips to a range of locations, including universities such as Goldsmiths and London Metropolitan University. This academic year, we plan to grow this programme even further so that over 300 pupils attend inspiring Enrichment trips. We ran our first 2 trips in February 2019, in which 46 Year 5 pupils in total from Woodberry Down primary school went on a one day visit to City, University of London.

These 2 trips were focused on opening up pupils' eyes to careers in STEM in particular. Pupils thoroughly enjoyed their campus tour led by Student Ambassadors in which they saw:

- Nurses in training at the clinical suite using electrically controlled dummy models to develop their patient care

- Engineers working on building Formula 1 racing cars

- The impressive 6 storey library and the Great Hall Lecture Theatre!

Pupils also loved their interactive engineering workshop in which they had to work in teams to develop towers using paper straws and masking tape - these towers had to be strong enough to hold a pile of university prospectuses and pupils loved competing to build the strongest tower!

We look forward to our remaining trips to take place in Spring/Summer 2019 in collaboration with numerous university partners, including Goldsmiths, SOAS, London Metropolitan University and St Mary's University. We would like to thank very much our funders who enable this trips to take place. Thank you very much to The Progress Foundation, St James's Foundation and The Lujenna Educational Trust.
