In 2017-18, 180 Team Up pupils visited inspring university and a top London law firm - more trips planned for 2018-19.

Thanks to London Metropolitan University and top city Law firm Stephenson Harwood LLP 180 pupils gained an insight into university life and the legal profession.
In February our supporters The Worshipful Company of Arbitrators helped to organise an enrichment day for 20 pupils from St Mary’s C of E High School at Stephenson Harwood LLP. The day featured a wide range of engaging and entertaining presentations and workshops from people engaged in different areas of the law. We had a barrister who allowed the pupils to don his wig and argue a case in front of him. We had experts in shipping law (ok we, did talk about pirates a little bit) and engineers involved in complex arbitration around disasters that had millions of pounds in liabilities. We also had an eye-opening tour of their lovely offices and got an opportunity to speak to Stephenson Harwood staff about the different aspects of their work.
Over the summer term pupils from Shacklewell Primary School, Woodberry Down Community Primary school, Hampstead School and St Angela’s Ursuline School and each enjoyed a day visiting London Metropolitan University. The pupils got a chance to tour the university's Super Lab - the largest science teaching laboratory in Europe (complete with a view of Arsenal’s football stadium) - and see the recording studio of the student radio station. One pupil was so enchanted by the size of the library that it was hard to convince her to leave. The pupils were so excited by the experience that they were trying to convince us that they were ready for university now!
It was a fantastic opportunity for the pupils to learn about the many different types of STEM subjects there are possible to study- and to consider how many different subject options they have at university to find something that they will enjoy.
