Following a recent fundraising bag-packing event at Tesco in Kensington, Team Up held its first fun run on Saturday 30th April at the Olympic Park in Stratford.

Aiming to find inspiration from Mo Farah and Jessica Ennis by holding the event at the Olympic Park, participants had the choice of running either 5KM or 10KM - with the vast majority of our incredible participants (unsurprsingly) opting for 5KM!

It was such an inspiring occasion, and amazing to be out running with motivated people raising money for a great cause! I had a brilliant time with the Team Up family, and I'm so happy that it was a fundraising success.

- Michael Brown, fun run participant

Pounding the track for social mobility, participants did themselves proud and raised much-needed funds for our tuition programme for students from low income backgrounds. A special mention has to go to Alvin Lewis - our one 10k runner, and to Susanna Rickard for fundraising an incredible £590!

All together, an amazing £1,113 was raised, going up to £1,289 with Gift Aid. Team Up would like to extend a huge thanks to all donors and participants, without whom we couldn't make a difference to so many students.

I am so touched by the incredible generosity of our kind donors. This will really enable us to continue to reach more students and schools with our intevention programme, and I am really inspired by the events on Saturday! A big thank you from the bottom of my heart to our incredible fundraisers and donors!

- Sharla Duncan, founder and CEO of Team Up

It doesn’t have to stop there, as there is still time for you to donate following the link here. Just £5 is enough to pay for the tuition resources for one child through a whole ten week programme, and these resources are what turn our willing and able volunteers into professional, superstar tutors!

From the Team Up Hub, a big congratulations to all those who participated.
